Appreciation for God’s Word
This Good Friday our hearts mourn for it was our sin that nailed Jesus to the cross. On this day, as the darkness of deep sorrow overtakes us, yearn for the light. Today thank God for the light of His Holy Word. Thank Him for the convicting light of the law that reveals the sin in our lives and the refreshing light of Gospel that assures us of God’s love and grace! Pray that on this day our appreciation for God’s Holy Word is renewed. Only God’s Word can reveal the goodness of this dark night.
We welcome you to worship today at 12:00 Noon and tonight at 7:00 pm. The Noon service will focus upon the seven times Jesus spoke while on the cross and the 7:00 pm service will draw our attention through the passion account of St. John’s Gospel. Different message at each service and both services will have faith-moving music and hymns. The tradition of “take up your cross” will be at both services, along with nailing of sins to the cross to end the 7:00 pm service.
